2025 AGM Recap and Year End Summary

News Image

The 2025 baseball season was another exciting and successful year for Confederation Park Little League. From early district camps in January to spring, and summer travel ball, our athletes, coaches, and volunteers demonstrated incredible dedication and passion for the game.

Season Highlights

This year, we welcome over 550 players across 50 spring teams, with more than 100 athletes extending their season through summer camps and summer travel baseball. Confederation Park also proudly hosted two Little Leaague Alberta events, and the Jays Care Challenger All-Star series, which brought together athletes from across Alberta and Saskatchewan in a celebration of inclusion and sportsmenship.

Facility upgrades, including the revitalizated batting cage and portable pitching mounds, enhanced player development and training opportunities. The return of the T-Ball Classic at John Fry Diamonds and strong performances in tournaments further showcased the growth of our player programs.

The Trapper Senior team captured the AAA Provincial Title and represented Alberta at Nationals in Calgary.

Operational and Program Notes

This season brought continued imporvements but also new challenges. The transition from TeamSnap to TeamLinkt is underway to simplify administration and reduce cost.

We also recognize the ongoing need for more volunteers and coaching support as our league continues to expand. Every successful season happens because of the parents and community members who give their time to coach, organize, and support our players. With more teams and tournaments each year, we need more helping hands to keep things running smoothly and make every event a success.

Financially, the league remains in a strong position, supported by registration income, casino funding, grants, and successful community fundraisers.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Plans for next season include replacing bullpens at both Confederation and Empire diamonds, pursuing city approval to cement dugouts, and addressing diamond shortages for Minor and Major by shifting more games to weekends. We will also explore Jays Care grant to enhance diamonds.

Board Transitions

This year, we say a heartfelt thank you and goodbye to three long standing members of our board:

  • Sam Mosen, President
  • Jennifer Schillinger, Secretary
  • Crystal Missel, Volunteer Coordinator

Their dedication and countless hours of service have shaped the success and growth of our league. We are grateful for all of their contribution to the Confederation Park community.

At the same time, we are excited to welcome Erica Power, Brian Soebbing, Taylor Cheung and Alicia Kelly to the Board of Directors. Their enthusiasm and fresh prespective will help guide the league into another successful season.

We are also looking to fill the Secretary position on our Board. If you are interested in getting involved please reach out. We would love to have you join the team.

Closing Message

The 2025 season was defined by growth, teamwork, and community spirit. None of it would be possible without our players, parents, coaches, and volunteers, the true heart of Confederation Park Little League.

As we look ahead to 2026, we remain committed to providing fun, inclusive, and developmental baseball experience for every athlete who steps onto our diamonds.
